Design & build 9 new dwellings to Passivhaus Standards and Code 4. The concept was to design the dwellings to be very thermally efficient so the minimal amount of heating required could be provided by two towel rails and an small in-line duct heater, no radiators were installed in any properties.
Each property had a gas boiler which served the two towel rails and the hot water cylinder. There was a MVHR (mechanical ventilation heat recovery) system installed that operated at 90% efficiency, meaning that 90% of the heat within the dwelling was reused by the system.
